Cargo transshipment from Iran through Turkish ports amounted to 214.5 million tons from January through March 2020, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on April 20.
The cargo transshipment from Iran by ships flying the Turkish flag was not carried out over the reporting period.
In 1Q2020, the cargo transshipment from Iran through Turkish ports by ships flying the Iranian flag amounted to 8,048 tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 206,457 million tons.
Meanwhile, ships flying the Iranian flag did also not transship cargo via Turkish ports.
During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by ships via Turkish ports amounted to over 94.6 million tons.
According to the ministry, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 7.4 million tons from January through March 2020.
The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flags amounted to 3.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 83.1 million tons in 1Q2020.
Over the reporting period, 18.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 32.1 million tons in March 2020.
The volume of cargo transshipped by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.8 million tons.
In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flags amounted to 1.3 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 27.9 million tons.
According to the ministry, 5.9 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
