Transshipment of goods from Algeria via the ports of Turkey in the first 4 months of 2020 topped 2.3 million tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
From January through April of this year, the volume of cargo handled from Algeria by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 124,066 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 1.4 million tons.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 852,452 tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Algerian flag.
Meanwhile, 37,801 tons of cargo from Algeria were transited through Turkish ports.
From January through April 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to more than 123.4 million tons.
Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag surpassed 9.6 million tons.
The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 4.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 108.8 million tons from January through April 2020.
Over the reporting period, over 24.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to more than 28.8 million tons in April 2020.
In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 2.2 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 25.6 million tons.
According to the ministry, 6.5 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
