Around 9,442 cargo transportation runs were carried out from Iran to Turkey by Iranian trucks from January through May 2020, which is 68 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND).
Iran accounts for 14.32 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation to Turkey by trucks for the reporting period, the UND said.
In May 2020, no cargo was transported from Iran to Turkey due to the closure of the border caused by the coronavirus pandemic, said the UND.
In the first 5 months of 2020, 65,957 foreign trucks carried out cargo transportations to Turkey, which is 22 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
In May 2020, 9,285 cargo movement runs were carried out by foreign trucks to Turkey, which is 51 percent less compared to May 2019.
