Half-year cargo shipment via Turkish Cesme port announced

As many as 555,299 tons of cargo were shipped through Turkey’s Cesme port in the first half of 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend .

The ministry said that ships flying the Turkish flags moved 551,186 tons of goods via Cesme port during 1H2020.

At the same time, ships flying the flags of other countries shipped over 4,113 tons of cargo via Cesme port.

As reported, no cargo was transshipped in transit through the mentioned port over the first half of this year.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey during the first six months of this year.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

During the reporting month, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
