Turkey's steel exports to France shrinks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 19

Steel exports from Turkey to France decreased by 10.9 percent from January through July 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, a representative of Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In total, Turkey exported steel to France in the amount of $82.3 million.

In July 2020, steel exports from Turkey to France decreased by 11.5 percent compared to July 2019 and amounted to $12.1 million.

From January through July 2020, steel exports from Turkey to the world markets decreased by 16.4 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to $7.02 billion.

Steel exports accounted for 7.8 percent of the country's total exports for this period.

Turkey exported $1.04 billion worth of steel to world markets in July 2020, which is 15.4 percent less than in the same month of 2019.

Steel exports accounted for seven percent of the country's total exports in July 2020. In the last 12 months (July 2019-July 2020) Turkey exported $12.4 billion worth of steel.
