The number of vehicles used in Turkey in September 2020 increased by 101.6 percent compared to September 2019, amounting to 105,732 units, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI).
The share of cars for the reported period amounted to 51.7 percent, vans and trucks - 16.4 percent, motorcycles - 22.6 percent, tractors - 5.1 percent.
Some 4.2 percent is accounted for by other vehicles.
Turkey is the sixth largest car manufacturer in Europe. The country assembles Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN car brands. In addition, BMC, Temsa and Otokar buses of local brands are produced in Turkey.
