Turkey registered 502 companies with Iranian capital from January through August 2020, which is by 232 companies less than in the same period of 2019, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) told Trend on Nov.3.
During the reporting period, the total capital of Iranian companies registered in Turkey amounted to slightly over 99 million liras ($11.7 million), as compared to over 105.3 million liras ($12.4 million) in the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, most of the Iranian companies were registered in Istanbul (444 companies) with a total capital of over 85.5 million liras ($10.1 million).
Two hundred four were engaged in wholesale and retail trade, 51 in real estate sales, 40 in tourism, 28 were industrial companies, 19 were construction companies, two mining companies, 14 companies were operating in the sphere of transportation, and.
"The remaining 81 companies with Iranian capital operate in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.
The total capital of 204 companies operating in the wholesale and retail trade registered during the reporting period exceeded 33.9 million liras ($4 million), according to TOBB.
