Volume of cargo transshipment in Turkish Aliagan port revealed

Cargo transshipment at the Turkish Port of Aliaga in Izmir province amounted to 44.5 million tons from January through September of 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

During the specified period in the port of Aliaga, vessels under the flag of Turkey handled 1.9 million tons, and vessels under the flags of other countries – 42.6 million tons of cargo.

"From January through September of 2020, the volume of transit traffic through the port of Aliaga amounted to 56,963 tons of cargo," the ministry said.

From January through September, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 270.6 million tons.

From January through September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment by vessels under the flag of Turkey amounted to 21.7 million tons.

In the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey by vessels flying the flags of their countries amounted to over 10 million tons, and under the flags of other countries - 238.8 million tons.

During this period, 54.5 million tons of cargo passed through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 31.2 million tons.

In September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment by vessels under the flag of Turkey amounted to 2.8 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey by vessels flying the flags of their countries amounted to over 1 million tons, and under the flags of other countries - 27.5 million tons.

According to the ministry, in September 2020, 6.2 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey in transit.
