Turkey discloses data on its maritime cargo shipment from Morocco

The volume of transshipment of goods from Morocco across the ports of Turkey exceeded 2.7 million tons in the past nine months of 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend in Nov.4.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo shipment from Morocco by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 211,871 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – over 2.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, 244,235 tons from Morocco were transited via Turkish ports.

From January through September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment via ports of Turkey made up 270.5 million tons.

More than 21.7 million tons of cargo were transshipped over the reporting period by ships flying the Turkish flag.

Over the first nine months of this year, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 10 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 238.7 million tons, the ministry said.

During this period, 54.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 31.1 million tons. In this month, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag exceeded 2.76 million tons.

At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to over 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 27.4 million tons.

More than 6.23 million tons of cargo were transited in September 2020 across the Turkish ports.
