Azerbaijan sees growth in number of job seekers from Turkey

The number of job seekers from Turkey in Azerbaijan notably increased in the past ten months of 2020, the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend on Nov.16.

During the reporting period, the number of Turkish citizens who visited Azerbaijan through ISKUR to find work doubled compared to the same period in 2019.

In total, 110 Turkish citizens visited the country via ISKUR over the reporting period.

Meanwhile, 7,600 Turkish citizens went abroad via ISKUR, which is 46.7 percent less compared to the same period in 2019.

In October 2020, 83,909 citizens were provided with jobs through this agency in Turkey. Some 32.39 percent of the total number of employed citizens accounted for women and 67.7 percent for men.

Over the reporting month, 97.5 percent of the total number of citizens provided with jobs accounted for the private sector. The number of unemployed in Turkey amounted to over 3 million people, 47.2 percent of whom are women, and 52.8 percent are men.
