Export of leather goods from Turkey to France down

The export of leather goods from Turkey to France dropped by 19.75 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $44.9 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In October 2020, the export of Turkey's leather goods to France increased by 29.59 percent compared to October 2019 and amounted to $4.9 million, the ministry noted.

According to the ministry, the export of leather goods from Turkey to the world markets decreased by 21.5 percent from January through October 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $1.1 billion.

Meanwhile, the export of leather products made 0.8 percent of the country's total export during the reporting period.

In October 2020, Turkey exported leather goods worth $131.2 million to the world markets, which is 11.3 percent less compared to the same month of 2019, the ministry said.

At the same time, Turkey’s export of leather products in October 2020 accounted for 0.8 percent of the country's total export.

Over the past 12 months (from October 2019 through October 2020), Turkey exported leather goods worth $1.3 billion abroad.
