Azerbaijan lowers cement imports from Turkey

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 3

Cement exports from Turkey to Azerbaijan decreased by 21.4 percent from January through November 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $30.3 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In November 2020, Turkey’s cement exports to Azerbaijan dropped by 23 percent compared to November 2019 and amounted to $2.32 million.

According to the ministry, cement exports from Turkey to global markets over the past 11 months of this year rose by 5.3 percent compared to the same period of last year, amounting to $3.4 billion.

At the same time, Turkey's exports of cement accounted for 2.2 percent of the country's total exports.

In November 2020, Turkey exported cement to foreign markets worth $319.1 million, which is 5.8 percent more than in the same month of 2019.

Cement exports from Turkey in November 2020 accounted for 2 percent of the country's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (from November 2019 through November 2020), Turkey exported cement worth $3.68 billion abroad.
