Turkey publishes data on cargo handling through its ports over January

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.9

The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 29.1 million tons in January 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.52 million tons.

At the same time, over 6.04 million tons of cargo passed through the ports of Turkey.

In 2020, the volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports amounted to 365.4 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 29.6 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 335.7 million tons.

During the past year, over 72.4 million tons of cargo passed through the ports of Turkey.
