Turkey shares data on cargo, passenger traffic at Antalya Airport

Around 3,297 tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish Antalya Airport in January 2021, which is 68 percent less compared to January 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

As the ministry noted, during the mentioned period, 1,874 tons of cargo were handled by domestic flights, while a year earlier this figure was 60 percent more.

"During January of this year, 1,424 tons of cargo were moved through Antalya Airport by international flights, which is 75 percent less compared to the same period of 2020," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, in the reporting month, Antalya Airport served 293,287 passengers, which is 70 percent less compared to the same month of 2020.

At the same time, 185,359 passengers were served on domestic flights, while a year earlier – by 65 percent more.

As reported, 107,928 passengers were served on international flights in Jan. 2021, which is 73 percent less compared to Jan. 2020.

The ministry noted that 3,982 flights were carried out at Antalya Airport in the specified month, which is 49 percent less compared to the same period of 2020.

Meanwhile, 2,977 flights were carried out on domestic flights, a decrease of 36 percent year on year, said the ministry.

International flights through Antalya Airport in January this year decreased by 65 percent compared to January 2020, amounting to 1,005 flights.

"In January 2021, air traffic in Turkey decreased by 45.9 percent and settled at 59,827 thousand flights. In this month, over 5.22 million passengers were served at all airports in Turkey," said the ministry.

The ministry added that 187,141 tons of cargo were transported through all airports of the country during January 2021.
