Turkey shares 2M2021data on volume of cargo shipment through Samsun port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20

Over 1.8 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish port of Samsun from January through February 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on April 20.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 77,274 tons of cargo were shipped via the Samsun port by ships flying the Turkish flag and over 1.7 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Meanwhile, no cargo was transited via the mentioned port, said the ministry.

More than 58.3 million tons of cargo have been transshipped through the ports of Turkey from January through February 2021.

Over the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag shipped 4.8 million tons of goods, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 53.6 million tons.

During the reporting period, nearly 11.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

Some 29.2 million tons of cargo were shipped through the Turkish ports in February 2021.

Some 2.2 million tons of cargo were transshipped via the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags while 26.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Over 5.8 million tons of goods were transited through the Turkish ports in February 2021.
