Some 73 companies with German capital have been registered in Turkey from January through March 2021, which is 6 companies more compared to the same period of 2020, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) told Trend.
According to TOBB, in the reporting period, the total capital of German companies registered in Turkey made up over 31.6 million liras ($3.88 million), as compared to over 13.9 million liras ($1.7 million) in the first quarter of 2020.
Meanwhile, most of the German companies were registered in Istanbul (43 companies) with a total capital of slightly over 18.6 million liras ($2.2 million).
Seventeen of the companies with German capital registered in the first 3 months of 2021 in Turkey were the companies that are engaged in the mining sector, industry – 5, construction - 5, real estate – 3, tourism - 2, in the sphere of wholesale and retail trade - 34.
"The remaining companies with German capital operate in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.
The total capital of 34 companies operating in the wholesale and retail trade registered during the reporting period made up over 8.1 million liras ($990 million), according to TOBB.
