Number of Turkey-registered Georgian companies in 1Q2021 down

Eight companies with Georgian capital have been registered in Turkey from January through March 2021, which is 3 companies less compared to the same period of 2020, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) told Trend.

According to TOBB, in the reporting period, the total capital of Georgian companies registered in Turkey made up slightly over 1 million liras ($120,000), as compared to 226,000 liras ($27,120) in the first quarter of 2020.

Meanwhile, most of the Georgian companies were registered in Istanbul (7 companies) with a total capital of 853,000 liras ($102,360).

Three of the companies with Georgian capital registered in the first 3 months of 2021 in Turkey were the companies that are engaged in the sphere of wholesale and retail trade, and two - transport.

"The remaining companies with Georgian capital operate in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.

The total capital of 3 companies operating in the wholesale and retail trade registered during the reporting period made up 700,000 liras ($84,000), according to TOBB.
