Volume of crude oil shipment through Turkish ports disclosed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12

Over 7.7 million tons of crude oil has been transshipped across the ports of Turkey from January through April 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 479,176 tons of crude oil were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag and more than 7.2 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Meanwhile, over 15.7 million tons of crude oil were transited via Turkish ports.

Some 124.9 million tons of cargo were transshipped through the ports in the first 5 months of 2021.

Over the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag shipped 9.8 million tons of goods, ships flying the flags of other countries – 115.1 million tons.

During the reporting period, 24.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 33.8 million tons in April 2021.

In the reporting month, cargo transshipment via the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 2.6 million tons and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 31.1 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.3 million tons of goods were transited through the Turkish ports.
