The construction of a 30-kilometer gas pipeline in the Kahramanmaras province in southern Turkey will be completed by the end of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend.
According to the ministry, the construction of the pipeline began in 2017.
"Seven million Turkish liras ($820,000) will be allocated for the construction of the gas pipeline this year, the project cost is 82 million Turkish liras ($9.6 million). Last year, 75 million Turkish liras ($8.8 million) were allocated for the implementation of the project," the ministry said.
The project is being implemented by the local Elektrik Uretim Anonim Sirketi (EUAS) company.
Turkey's expenditures on the implementation of energy projects as of 2021 will amount to 16.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.9 billion), while last year this figure was 44.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.1 billion).
By the end of this year, 125 energy projects will be implemented in Turkey. The foreign loans in the amount of over 3.1 billion Turkish liras ($358.9 million) will be issued for their implementation.
Some 16.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.9 billion) out of 44.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.1 billion) allocated for implementation of energy projects in Turkey last year fell on the foreign loans.
