Turkish ministry shares 7M2021 data on cargo shipment via Aliaga port

The volume of cargo transshipment in the Turkish port of Aliaga amounted to 34.4 million tons in the first 7 months of 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

According to the ministry, more than 1.28 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flag of Turkey through the port of Aliaga, 33.2 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

"From January through July 2021, Aliaga port handled 92,181 tons of transit cargo," the ministry said.

Over 219.5 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish ports from January through July 2021, 17.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 201.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

More than 43.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in the first seven months of this year.

Furthermore, nearly 31.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in July 2021.

In the same month, around 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports.
