Turkey issues data on cargo shipment via local ports from Albania

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 23

Around 349,953 tons of goods were transshipped through the Turkish ports from Albania from January through July 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

At the same time, 11 201 tons of cargo from Albania were delivered to Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 299 114 tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries, said the ministry.

Reportedly, during the specifying period, ships flying the flag of Albania delivered 39,638 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

The ministry also said that Turkish ports handled 10,306 tons of cargo in transit from Albania.

Over 219.5 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish ports from January through July 2021, 17.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 201.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

More than 43.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in the first seven months of this year.

Furthermore, nearly 31.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in July 2021.

In the same month, around 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports.
