Turkey shares data on cargo traffic via Giresun port in 7M2021

Some 590,940 tons of cargo have been transported via Turkey’s Giresun port in the first seven months of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 6,600 tons of cargo have been handled through the port by ships flying the flag of Turkey, and 584,340 tons by ships flying the flags of other countries to Turkish ports.

Meanwhile, no cargo was transited via the Giresun port, added the ministry.

From January through July 2021, over 219.5 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish ports, 17.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 201.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

More than 43.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in the first seven months of this year.

Furthermore, nearly 31.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in July 2021.

In the same month, around 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports.
