Over 5.68 million tons of goods were transshipped through the Turkish ports from China in the first seven months of 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the ministry, 38,500 tons of cargo from China were handled via Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 5.59 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.
From January through July of this year, ships flying the Chinese flag delivered 45,371 tons of cargo via Turkish ports.
The ministry also said that 1.12 million tons of goods from Italy were moved in transit through Turkish ports in the reporting period.
Over 219.5 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish ports from January through July 2021, 17.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 201.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.
More than 43.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in the first seven months of this year.
Furthermore, nearly 31.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in July 2021.
In the same month, around 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.
Meanwhile, over 6.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports.
