Turkey shares data on cargo shipment from Australia via local ports

Some 3.06 million tons of goods were transshipped from Australia through the Turkish ports from January through July 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend .

According to the ministry, 270 tons of cargo from Australia were handled via Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 3.06 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

No cargo was transported by ships flying the Australian flag via Turkish ports from January through July 2021.

The ministry also said that 23,302 tons of goods from Australia were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period.

Over 219.5 million tons of goods have been transshipped through the Turkish ports from January through July 2021, 17.5 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 201.9 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

More than 43.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in the first seven months of this year.

Furthermore, nearly 31.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in July 2021.

In the same month, around 2.2 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.6 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports.
