The General Directorate of Mining, Research and Exploration (MTA) under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey will conduct geological exploration at new promising areas in Uzbekistan, the Turkish Energy Ministry told Trend on Sept.6.
"MTA will start geological exploration at new perspective areas in Uzbekistan in October 2021, which will last throughout the next year," the ministry said.
At the same time, the ministry didn’t specify exactly where the exploration will be carried out in Uzbekistan.
In August 2019, MTA began exploration of ore deposits in the country.
Earlier, MTA and the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources (Goskomgeo) of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on conducting geological studies to identify deposits of gold and tungsten in three areas in the country.
In accordance with the agreement, the parties will prepare integrated technical and economic calculations for geological exploration and pilot production at three areas in Navoi and Jizzakh regions, perspective for the discovery of tungsten and gold deposits.
