The volume of cargo transshipment in the Turkish port of Kocaeli amounted to 45.2 million tons from January through August 2021, Trend reports via the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.
Some 3.6 million tons of cargo were transported by Turkish ships and 41.6 million tons by ships of other countries through the port of Kocaeli.
"Turkish port of Kocaeli handled 921,681 tons of transit cargo from January through August 2021," the ministry said.
Over the reporting period of time, the ports of Turkey handled 253.4 million tons of cargo in total.
The volume of cargo transportation by Turkish ships amounted to 20.1 million tons.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships of other countries amounted to 233.2 million tons
During the specified period, Turkish ports handled 50.2 million tons of transit cargo.
In August 2021, the ports of Turkey handled 33.9 million tons of cargo in total.
The volume of cargo transportation by Turkish ships amounted to 2.5 million tons and 31.3 million tons by ships of other countries.
The ports of Turkey handled 6.2 million tons of transit cargo in August 2021.
