Turkey shares data on volume of cargo transshipped via Gulluk port

The volume of cargo transshipment in the Turkish port of Gulluk in 8M2021 amounted to over 5.4 million tons, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend on October 12.

According to the ministry, 1.3 million tons of cargo were transported by ships under the flag of Turkey through the port of Gulluk, while 4.1 million tons were transported by ships under the flags of other countries.

The ministry notes that the port of Gulluk did not carry out transshipment of transit cargo during the reporting period.

It is also reported that the ports of Turkey in 8M2021 handled 253 million tons of cargo in total.

It is noted that the volume of cargo transported through the ports by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to over 20 million tons, while cargo transportation via Turkish ports by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 233 million tons.

In addition, during the specified period, Turkish ports handled 50 million tons of transit cargo.

In August 2021, the ports of Turkey as a whole handled 34 million tons of cargo.

The volume of cargo transported by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.6 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 31.4 million tons.

In August, Turkish ports handled 6.3 million tons of transit cargo.
