The cargo turnover of Ankara Esenboga Airport from January through October 2021 grew, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend on Nov. 26.
According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 64,744 tons, up by 27 percent on annual basis.
In the first 10 months of this year, cargo turnover on domestic flights equaled 42,957 tons (an increase of 30 percent on annual basis), and on international – 21,520 tons (rise of 22 percent), the ministry said.
Over the reporting period, the passenger traffic at the airport exceeded 5.7 million people, which is a growth of 27 percent on annual basis. The traffic on domestic flights amounted to 4.6 million people (growth by 22 percent), and on international – over one million people (increase by 56 percent).
Meanwhile, according to the ministry, the total number of performed flights (on domestic routes and international lines) was 43,797, which is 29 percent more compared to the first 10 months of 2020.
The passenger traffic at all airports of Turkey from January through October 2021 exceeded 106.9 million people, and the turnover of goods – 2.8 million tons.
