Turkey reveals volume of cargo shipment via its ports from Ukraine for 9M2021

The volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish ports from Ukraine in the first nine months of 2021 exceeded 10.9 million tons, the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 974,207 tons of cargo, and ships flying the flags of other countries – more than 9.3 million tons from Ukraine to the Turkish ports.

From January through September this year, ships flying the Ukrainian flag delivered 613,237 tons of cargo to the ports, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, over 2.7 million tons of cargo from Ukraine were transited through the Turkish ports, added the ministry.

In the first nine months of this year, the total volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 286.3 million tons, and ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 22.2 million tons of goods.

In the first nine months of this year, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 263.8 million tons, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, more than 57 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2021, the total volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 32.9 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.4 million tons of cargo, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.8 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports.
