Turkey releases data on cargo shipment via local ports for 11M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 21

The volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish ports in the first 11 months of 2021 exceeded 350.2 million tons, the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period ships flying the Turkish flag transported over 27.3 million tons of cargo, and ships flying the flags of other countries – more than 322.8 million tons through the ports.

Meanwhile, over 70.7 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports.

In November this year, the total volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 31.4 million tons, and ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 2.3 million tons of goods.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries exceeded 29.1 million tons, the ministry noted.

At the same time, more than seven million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey, added the ministry.
