Some 2.2 million tons of cargo were transshipped via the Turkish ports from Germany in the first 11 months of 2021, the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend.
According to the ministry, during the reporting period ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 19,801 tons of cargo, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 2.1 million tons.
The ships flying the German flag delivered 101,266 tons of cargo to the ports from January through November 2021, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, 125,680 tons of cargo from Germany were transited through the Turkish ports.
The total volume of cargo transshipped through the Turkish ports exceeded 350.2 million tons while ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 27.3 million tons of goods.
The volume of cargo transshipped via the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries exceeded 322.8 million tons during the reporting period, the ministry said.
At the same time, more than 70.7 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports.
Over 31.4 million tons of cargo were transshipped through the Turkish ports in November 2021.
The ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.3 million tons of cargo while 29.1 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries in November 2021.
Moreover, over 7 million tons of goods were transited through the Turkish ports, the ministry said.
