Labour migration from Turkey to Germany slightly increased in 2021

Trend:

The number of trips to Germany by Turkish citizens for the purpose of employment increased slightly in 2021, the General Directorate of the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend.

During this period, the number of Turkish citizens who visited Germany through ISKUR increased by 4.8 percent compared to 2020, amounting to 2,688.

In general, during the reporting period, 13,171 Turkish citizens left abroad through ISKUR (an increase of 29.9 percent over 2020).

The number of Turkish citizens provided with jobs through ISKUR was 87,681, out of which 58.7 percent were male and 41.3 percent were female.

Some 98.9 percent of job seekers were employed in the private sector.

The number of unemployed in Turkey reached 3.171 million. Women comprised 49.8 percent of the total, and men 50.2 percent.
