Turkish ministry discloses volume of country’s foreign trade turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. Turkish foreign trade turnover amounted to $48.5 billion in May 2022, Turkish Ministry of Trade told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

Exports of Türkiye increased by 15.3 percent (to $19.9 billion) compared to the same month in 2021. Import increased by 43.5 percent and amounted to $29.5 billion.

Foreign trade turnover of Türkiye amounted to $248.1 billion over the first five months 2022.

"Turkish exports grew by 20.4 percent (to $102.4 billion) during reported period compared to the same period in 2021," ministry said.

According to the ministry, Turkish imports increased by 40.8 percent (up to $145.6 billion) during this period compared to first five months last year

Turkish foreign trade turnover amounted to $496.7 billion in 2021.

In 2021, Turkey's exports increased by 32.8 percent compared to 2020, to $225.2 billion.

Last year, Turkey's imports grew by 23.6 percent compared to 2020, to $271.4 billion.

It should be noted that in 2020, Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $388.8 billion.
