BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22. From January through March 2024, 4.1 million tons of cargo were transported from Greece to Turkish ports, Trend reports via the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, Turkish-flagged vessels brought
431,113 tons of cargo to Greek ports, while foreign-flagged vessels
supplied 3.52 million tons.
During this time, Greek-flagged vessels transported 157,125 tons of
cargo to Turkish ports. From January to March 2024, 1.29 million
tons of transit cargo were moved to Turkish ports from Greece.
In March 2024, Turkey's ports received 36.68 million tons of cargo,
and cargo traffic to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels
totaled 2.96 million tons during this period.
Cargo traffic from foreign-flagged vessels to Turkish ports was
33.72 million tons.
According to the ministry, from January through March 2024, Türkiye ports received 102.7 million tons of cargo.
The reception of cargoes from vessels operating under the Turkish flag amounted to 7.7 million tons, and from vessels flying the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to Turkish ports amounted to 95 million 10 thousand 51 tons.
From January through March 2024, 16.85 million tons of transit
cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye, the department
said.
In March 2024, the ports of Türkiye received 4,834 vessels.
According to the information, during this period, the number of vessels accepted in Turkish ports under the flags of other countries was 3 thousand, 324, and 1,510 under the flag of Türkiye.
From January through March 2024, the Turkish ports received 13.718 vessels.
"During this period, the number of vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports amounted to 9,372, and vessels under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 4,346," the ministry said in a statement.
