Türkiye reveals statistics of maritime cargo transportation with Egypt for 1Q2024

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. From January through March 2024, 5.07 million tons of cargo were transported from Egypt to Turkish ports, Trend reports via the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

According to the Ministry, Turkish-flagged vessels delivered 767,446 tons of cargo from Egyptian ports, while vessels under the flags of other countries delivered 4.2 million tons.

Over the same period, vessels under the Egyptian flag delivered 79,286 tons of cargo to Turkish ports. From January through March 2024, 353,548 tons of transit cargo were transported to Turkish ports from Egypt.

In March 2024, Türkiye ports received 36.68 million tons of cargo.

During this period, the cargo traffic to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.96 million tons.

Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 33.7 million tons.

Additionally, 5.69 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Türkiye ports in March 2024.

According to the ministry, from January through March 2024, Turkish ports received 102.7 million tons of cargo.

The cargo flow of Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 7.7 million tons. Meanwhile, cargo traffic by vessels under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 95 million tons.

The report says that 16.85 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Turkish ports from January through March 2024.

In March 2024, Türkiye ports received 4,834 vessels.

According to the information, during this period, the number of vessels accepted in Türkiye ports under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,324 and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 1,510.

From January through March 2024, Türkiye ports received 13,718 ships.

"During this time, the number of ships under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports amounted to 9,372, and the number of ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 4,346," the ministry said in a statement.
