Türkiye reduces exports to OIC member countries in June 2024

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Türkiye's exports to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) decreased by 2.7 percent in June 2024 compared to the same month in 2023 and amounted to $4.8 billion, the statement of the Turkish Trade Ministry said, Trend reports.

According to the statement, Türkiye's exports to OIC member countries totaled $32.5 billion from January through June this year, up 9.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

"Türkiye's imports from member countries of the OIC decreased by 4.7 percent in June this year compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to $2.9 billion," the statement of the ministry also said.

Additionally, the statement pointed out that Türkiye's imports from OIC member countries went down 6.9 percent year-on-year to $19.9 billion from January through June 2024.

Besides, Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $43.9 billion in June 2024.

Meanwhile, as the statement explained, the country's exports abroad totaled $19.49 billion, which is 8.3 percent less than June 2023, and imports - $24.9 billion, down 4.4 percent.

"Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $295 billion from January through June this year," the statement from the ministry reads.

The statement added that the country's overall exports to foreign markets rose 2.6 percent in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023 to $126.28 billion, while imports fell 8.4 percent to $168.87 billion.

To note, Türkiye's foreign trade turnover reached $617.5 billion last year.

Türkiye's exports totaled $255.7 billion in 2023, up 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, while imports decreased 0.5 percent to $361.7 billion.
