ANTALYA, Türkiye, April 11. The full membership in the EU remains Türkiye's strategic goal, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at the opening of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Trend reports.
"However, due to fears, biases, and actions of some players who have taken the Union hostage from within, our accession process to the European Union does not always progress as it should. Moreover, today, some European countries, unfortunately, cannot show the courage, strategic vision, and determination that gave birth to the European Union three quarters of a century ago," he said.
Erdoğan pointed out that if the EU wants to overcome the current challenges and be properly represented in the new world order, it must act accordingly, get rid of old stereotypes, and give Türkiye its deserved place in the Union as soon as possible.
