(Cihan) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that in case there was a request from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) for cross-border operation, the parliament would provide support for it.

Erdogan said in a televised interview that the parliament's solitary decision on cross border action would cause tension among countries. He also criticized United States for lack of action in countering terrorism.

Asked whether United States could influence Turkey's decision on operations in North Iraq, Erdogan said that United States were Turkey's political partner only and that Turkey could make decisions of this nature for itself.

The United States, said Erdogan, should do all in their power to prevent actions of the terrorist organizations in North Iraq. If requested actions do not take place, Turkey would react without anyone's permission, said the prime minister.

"Whatever is necessary for our country's peace and happiness will be done. We do not have the slightest divergence of opinion with TSK on the subject" said Erdogan and added that the army was already prepared for any action and ready to act when the time comes.
