Resources of 3G-networks of mobile operators in Azerbaijan mastered not enough and it is prematurely to talk about the deployment of a 4G network, State Administration of Radio Frequencies told Trend on Monday.

According to information, the speed in 3G-networks is measured by kilobits, while it should be up to 100 Mbit / s.

"This figure has not yet been reached, and therefore the operator should improve the quality of services based on 3G," the source said.

Fourth generation network deployment in Azerbaijan does not require additional frequencies, State Administration of Radio Frequencies said. Operators can deploy a 4G network on the existing frequencies, taking into account the existing equipment to support the frequency range.

4G standard is currently deployed in some 30 countries, and while the actual users of the fourth generation is very small. No less important issue is the presence of user devices that support the fourth-generation network, State Administration of Radio Frequencies said. Manufacturers still offer a limited range of products with LTE network support.

Generally, the first LTE-subscribers in the world are the users of USB-DATA-cards that require access to the Internet via a laptop computer. Smartphones, tablet PCs and other devices that support LTE network must be at mass sale in order to popularize this technology.

Azerbaijani GSM-operators themselves agree that the benefits of 4G network will be more interesting for a narrow range of users, for example, architects who need to download the "heavy" content. Benefits of 3G network will be sufficient to the most of subscribers, including corporate sector.
