Azerbaijan exported 114.82 million kilowatt hours of electricity in Jan.-Apr. 2015, based on the customs declarations, Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said in its statistical report.
The country exported 220 million kilowatt hours of electricity in the same period of 2014.
Azerbaijan exported $6.7 million worth of electricity in Jan.-Apr. 2015, compared to $9.85 million in the same period of 2014.
The country exported 588.32 million kilowatt hours of electricity based on the customs declarations in 2014, compared to over 595.67 million kilowatt hours in 2013.
Azerenerji JSC is the main producer of electricity in Azerbaijan. The company has hundreds of substations and tens of power plants.
The generation capacity of Azerbaijan's power supply system has increased by 30 percent over the last five years. Currently, its capacity is 7,105 megawatt. This allows to generate around 24 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and export 2.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
