Romanian Subsidiary of Kazakh KazMunaiGas expands its activity in Moldova

The Rompetrol Group - the Romanian subsidiary of Kazakh National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas has recently opened two new filling stations through Rompetrol Moldova, KMG reported on Thursday.

Thus the company is currently operating 47 stations in Moldova.

"The two stations are part of the development of the franchise retail network. This strategy supports the completion in the mid-year, of the project which aims to increase the processing capacity of Petromidia Refinery from 3.8 million tons per year to 5 million tons per year," the Vice President of the Rompetrol Group on retail sales Titov Buzescu said.

According to Buzescu, it is necessary to develop the retail sales in the Black Sea area, namely Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine and Turkey to manage effectively the surplus production.

The Rompetrol Group is a large holding company. The group is active primarily in refining and marketing downstream, with additional operations in exploration, production and other services for the oil industry. It owns two oil refineries - Petromidia and Vega - and 1,000 supply points in Europe (Romania, France, Spain, Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Albania, and Georgia). The Rompetrol Group is a 100 percent subsidiary of KMG.

KazMunaiGas is the Kazakh national operator for hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing and transportation. The state owns 100-percent shares of the company.
