The plane of the Tashkent-Mumbai flight of Uzbekistan Airways carried out emergency landing in Samarkand because one of the passengers had a heart attack, the national airline said in its Telegram channel.
According to the information, the plane of the HY-427 Tashkent-Mumbai flight took off from Tashkent airport at 00:05. Soon after the takeoff, when the aircraft was already over the territory of Afghanistan, the passenger felt ill. After assessing the condition of the passenger, the crew decided to urgently land the plane and deliver the passenger to the airport of the nearest large city.
Samarkand was the best option because of its proximity and the presence of large medical institutions capable of receiving passengers.
After the hospitalization of the passenger with a heart attack, the plane continued the flight and arrived in Mumbai with a small delay at 06:15.
