Georgian candidate for prime minister: Reduction in utility tariffs possible

A reduction in utility tariffs will be possible in the near future via negotiations with the companies that are involved in the regulation of prices, the candidate for Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili said on Wednesday at the meeting with the parliamentary minority.

A reduction in utility tariffs will be possible in the near future via negotiations with the companies that are involved in the regulation of prices, the candidate for Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili said on Wednesday at the meeting with the parliamentary minority.

"We already have the numbers. I know at what price we purchase gas. I also know that there are companies that artificially increase the prices," Ivanishvili.noted.

As soon as the government is approved, the public will know all about the activities of these companies, the candidate for prime minister added..

According to him, the same situation is observed in electricity field.

"We know that there are reserves that will reduce tariffs. In the future we need to lower the tariffs through our hydropower stations," Bidzina Ivanishvili added.
