Sumgait power plant produced more than 1.3 billion kW/h of electricity in January-September, Azerenergy (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan) said.

The power plant generated about 155 million kilowatt / hours of electricity in September.

The Sumgait 525 MW power plant capacity consists of two gas turbines and one steam-gas unit.

The station provides energy security for the rapidly developing Sumgait and Absheron peninsula.

The plant is also essential for the smooth operation of power transmission and distribution systems.
