The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, William Burns will visit Astana, Kazakhstan on May 7-8, the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan said Monday.
"His visit will confirm the United States' long-term commitment to the security and prosperity in Central Asia," the embassy said.
Burns will meet with the country's leadership to discuss a range of bilateral and regional cooperation issues, including security, politics, economy and human dimension, according to the U.S. embassy.
The United States, the first country to open its embassy in Kazakhstan, is proud with the bilateral cooperation on a wide range of issues, including strengthening regional security, expansion of trade and economic cooperation and promotion of human rights and civil society.
