The pilots of Kazakhstan's airforce conducted military drills at the "Kazakhstan" polygon in Almaty, the Kazakh defense ministry said on July 28.
The message said the drills were conducted with the use of Mil Mi-17 and Mil Mi-24 helicopters, and S-8 type missiles.
Kazakh defense ministry said that the drills included air reconnaissance, location of an indicated area, and detection of an imaginary enemy's position.
The imaginary enemy's targets were within a distance of 2.5 kilometers, and over 100 disguised full-length targets and layouts of the combat armored vehicles were hit, the ministry said.
"Some 100 servicemen, including five army aviation crews, were involved in training flights," the ministry added. "In general, the pilots conducted 200 combat training flights."
Night flights were carried out with full crews as it usually happens in combat conditions.
