Turkish government decided to provide Kyrgyz armed forces with financial assistance in amount of $1 million per year, Kabar news agency reported citing the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan Asanbek Alymkozhoev.
"The assistance will be first provided to the border guard service, and then to the National Guard and the ministry of defense," - Alymkozhoev said.
On September 24 in Dushanbe, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Defense, Abibilla Kudaiberdiev and Turkey's minister of National Defense Ismet Yilmaz signed a number of documents, in particular, an agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey on the training and cooperation in military medicine; an agreement between the two countries' government on military financial cooperation; a protocol between the governments of two countries on financial assistance.
