The newly appointed Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkmenistan Janish Rustenbekov presented copies of his credentials to the Foreign Ministry, the Turkmen government reported Aug. 22.

During the meeting held at the ministry, special attention was paid to the aspects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the authoritative international organizations, as well as regular dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

Issues of further intensification of cooperation in the political and economic fields were also discussed at the meeting.

The two countries are involved in a large project on gas delivery from Central Asia to China, primarily from Turkmenistan. Beijing has a long-term agreement with Ashgabat on increase of deliveries up to 65 billion cubic meters of gas until 2020.
