Turkmenistan is able to maintain all the benefits envisaged by the country's law for the population, said Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
He made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Turkmenistan's Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Berdimuhamedov's speech was published in the local media June 9.
"Currently, the global economy is in a very difficult situation. The prices for raw materials have significantly decreased in the world," he said, adding that under these conditions, Turkmenistan has succeeded to maintain the GDP growth at 6 percent.
This makes it possible to provide the state budget with necessary funds, maintain all the benefits for the country's population and implement the planned social programs, according to Berdimuhamedov.
"We construct many facilities worth billions of dollars. We build new houses, roads, international gas pipelines and other infrastructure facilities," said Turkmenistan's president.
