Iran, Germany petrochemical deal comes into force

The implementation of a petrochemical cooperation deal which was signed between Iran’s Kian Petrochemical company and Germany’s engineering company Linde Group has started.

The German party has started the engineering work, Mohammad Sadeq Fazeli, managing director of Kian Petrochemical company, said, SHANA news agency reported Sept. 10.

The deal, worth 34.96 million euro was signed last month, Fazeli said, adding that under the deal, Linde Group will provide the Iranian counterpart with FEED (Front End Engineering Design) of olefin, butadiene, benzene extraction and hydrodealkylation units of its petrochemical complex.

The project will be implemented within a 12-month period.

Kian Petrochemical was established in 2012 in the Special Economic Petrochemical Zone at Assaluyeh (southern Iran) for the implementation of the country's 12th Olefin project.
